Tibet: salt industry runs in good condition

The Commerce Department of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region has announced recently that in the first half year of 2015, the accumulative total sale of refined salt has exceeded 2590 tons and the delivery of iodized edible salt to farmers and herdsmen has reached 6037 tons in TAR, which has already accomplished 43% of the yearly plan. Currently, the market of salt in the whole region is running in good condition with sufficient supply, stable price, unobstructed marketing channel and normal producing order. Meanwhile, farmers and herdsmen iodized salt distribution is going smoothly in accordance with the yearly plan.

It is also introduced that among the accumulative total distribution of 6037 tons of iodized edible salt, 1398 tons are sent to famers and herdsmen in Lhasa, 1932 tons to Shigatse, 884 tons to Shannan, 272 tons to Nyingchi, 679 tons to Nagchu, 218 to Ngari, and 654 tons to Chamdo.
