The development of Donggar Town

Donggar, “the white hillside” in Tibetan, is also the name of Tohlung Dechen’s downtown which is the closest county to Lhasa, the capital city of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. With an important geographical location, Donggar Town is the only way from the west to Lhasa and the gate from Qinghai-Tibet line to the west.Since the establishment of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, the Donggar Town has witnessed a great leap economically.

Next to the Lhasa economic development zone, Donggar Town affected by the market trend, is developing the large-scale vegetable planting base, floral planting base and the cattle farm. The natives are running business, including the building, transport and Tibetan carpet waving.

Thanks to the establishment of the Lhasa national economic development zone that runs about 2.52 square kilometers, Donggar Town began its way to the urbanization.

With the sound infrastructure, Donggar Town enjoys the 100% coverage of TV, mobile network, running water and the NCMS. Besides, Flushing toilets are also going to every household and the sanitary sewage is taken out to the county’s sewage treatment controller.

In 2014, per capital income averaged 14199.44 Yuan, with the total income of 1.36 million Yuan. Besides, the Donggar Town put an importance to the development of tourism. The tourists to the Sangmu County, one part of the Donggar Town, reached 76800 and the income totals 2.44 million yuan.
