As the only classic large scale Tibetan cultural epic drama gathering dozens of species of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage elements, Tibetan cultural epic real drama “Princess Wencheng” takes the starry sky as the curtain and the natural mountains and rivers as the background scene, and makes the drama not only magnificent but also mind shocking.

The theater is located on the verge of Lhasa River, facing the Potala Palace from the distance. In Tsechokling Village of Lhasa, where Princess Wencheng once camped, following the footprint of the Princess, the time goes back to 1300 years ago. This epic drama reproduces Princess Wencheng’s hardships of a long and dangerous journey and her ups and downs in the mind, interpreting the romantic love legend of Great Tang and singing touching epic of Han-Tibetan intermarriage. 

As of mid-July this year, a total of 0.1343 million tickets of the show have been issued, making a total sale of more than 5.522 million yuan. During the tourist season, the average number of people going to watch the drama is more than 3000 people per day. At the same time, to further enhance the effects of the performance, special effects adopted in epic drama “Princess Wencheng” will be fully reformed and updated in 2015 and 2016. Five special effects, such as Palace of Palaces, mirror breaking, the Buddha, beautiful scenery of snowcapped mountain, sun and moon, will be completed by 2015. With the accomplishment of these special effects’ upgrades, it will bring the majority of the audience more shocking viewing experience.
