Tibet leaders meet with South Korea congress youth delegation

On August 15, 2015, the deputy director of the Tibetan Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Karma and the vice-chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region’s government Dorje Tsedrup met in Foreign and Overseas Affairs Office of Tibet Autonomous Region with South Korea congress youth delegation led by Kim Se Yoen, a Saenuri Party congressman. 

The youth delegation from South Korea visited the city of Lhasa, southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, from August 13 to 16. Their tour to Tibet is to further exchange and promote understanding on Tibet’s nationality religion policies as well as Tibet’s economic and social development.

At the beginning of this meeting, Karma, on behalf of the Tibetan Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, warmly welcomed the South Korea congress youth delegation’s arrival with hadas. She said that China and South Korea are close in both geographic location and diplomatic relations. Hence, southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region maintains close and friendly exchanges as well. Later, she introduced the economic and medical care development as well as Tibetan people’s livelihood etc.

Kim Se Yoen emphasized that with the joint efforts of both sides and interpersonal communications between people in both countries, China-South Korea relations have been taking a further step forward. He also showed his respect for that under the leadership of the Communist Party, 56 nationalities of China are sharing prosperity and development. He did appreciate the warm reception and hospitality.
