It is reported that China Agricultural Department is developing the improvement of staple-processing industry in China. The fourth activity for the application of “ the modern enterprises of national staple-processing industry” is held in southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. With the assessment and authorization by Agricultural Department, Yajiang Yuan Agriculture Technology Co.Lit, mainly dealing with potato production, is awarded as the “modern enterprise of national staple-processing industry”.

With the fixed asset of 47 million yuan, Yajiang Yuan Agriculture Technology Co.Lit, funded in 2007, mainly deals with the production and research of potato. Covering more than 5,000 mu in potato plant, this company produces all products made of potatoes, such as cornflour, acrylic powder, mashed potatoes and hash brown, totaling 30 kinds. The research work for new potato production is underway. It is predicted that there will be more than 50 kinds of potato productions.

Enjoying the annual output of 10,000 ton in potato productions, Yajiang Yuan Agriculture Technology Co.Lit not only sells across the country but also exports to India and other countries. “ Every year, sales in Tibet accounts for 20 percent of the total production, 40 percent mainly to Shanghai, Tianjin and other cities out of Tibet, the rest exported to India. ” said by manager of Yajiang Yuan Agriculture Technology Co.Lit.
