On Nov. 6, 2015, Tibet’s first charity supermarket, which is located at Lhasa Social Welfare Institute, is inaugurated and formally put into operation. With an area of 135 square meters and a total investment of 4 million yuan, this supermarket is co-founded by Lhasa Civil Affairs Bureau and Lhasa Charity Federation. Charity supermarket is introduced as a new mode of society donations, and the purpose of founding charity supermarket is to strengthen regular living assistance to poor people in the city and meet the multi-level demands of poverty-stricken population. It is said that charity supermarket will be universal in Lhasa in two years so that each county and district can have a charitable supermarket.
