The First Sichuan Self-Driving Tourism Development Conference kicked off in Wenjiang district in Chengdu on Dec 18.

More than 400 experts in camping and driving tourism attended the two-day conference, including provincial officials, travel agents and investors.

Exhibitions displayed caravans, camping equipment and products, attracting visitors from neighboring regions, including Shaanxi province, Tibet autonomous region and Chongqing municipality.

The conference was initiated by Sichuan Tourism Association and Chengdu tourism bureau and supported by the Sichuan Camping and Self-Driving Association and Wenjiang government. It aims at creating new tourism options and exploring consumer potential in camping and motor tourism.

Wenjiang district was selected to host the conference because it is a leader in Sichuan’s motor tourism. It has three well-equipped driving camps in Jinma town, Shou’an town and Baicui village. Wenjiang also offers driving itineraries for spring flowers and local dishes.
