Shigatse Peace Airport and high-grade highway projects will start construction in 2016. It is reported that once completed, the journey time between Peace Airport and Shigatse downtown will be shorten to 30 minutes, according to Communications Department of Tibet Autonomous Region.

Moreover, Shigatse Peace Airport, located in Jangdam Village of Shigatse City, was open to air traffic on Oct. 30, 2010. At present, it takes citizens an hour or so to reach the airport from Shigatse city.

The planning high-grade highway is designed to be the first-class directional and four lanes highway with a projected speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
