The Fourth season of the Tibetan dancing opera "Princess Wencheng" is scheduled to be officially staged on April 20, 2016. The season's large epic drama won't change much in the content and duration, but special effects, stage construction, stage lighting and others will be upgraded to ensure the quality of the performance.
This epic drama reproduces Princess Wencheng's hardships of a long and dangerous journey to Tibet and her ups and downs in the mind on the way, interpreting the romantic love legend of Great Tang and singing touching epic of Han-Tibetan intermarriage. It has drawn great attention ever since it was performed in August, 2015. Nowadays, it has become a standard configuration of tourists to visit Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple at daytime and to watch the epic drama “Princess Wencheng” in evening.
To further enhance the performance, special effects adopted in epic drama "Princess Wencheng" have been fully reformed and updated in this season of 2016. Upgrading work of 5 special effects consisting of Palace of Palaces, mirror breaking, the Buddha, beautiful scenery of snowcapped mountain, sun and moon, have been completed. With the upgrades of these special effects, it will bring the audience a more shocking viewing experience.
Following the continuously extending of epic drama's brand effect, projects derived are also launched in a succession. Tibetan Courtyard Style Street was open to the public in May, 2015, which mixes folk culture display, production and consumption of ethnic handicrafts, traditional song and dance performances all in one place. In 2016, most of the themed inns will be open for business as well, which will accommodate about one thousand people simultaneously.
