Tibet: the youth care for blind children

By Zhu Shan Source:China Tibet News 2016-05-13

It is reported from Xinhua News Agency that young volunteers accompanied blind children to play at the children's park on May 4. Besides, young volunteers also donated toys and money to blind children.

Because of high altitude and intensity of UV radiation, the incidence of blind in Tibet is higher than China's other provinces. Tibet Skyid Skyid Blind Children Nursery School, the first nursery school for blind children in China, was founded in 2011. It is located in Penshung Town of Shigatse, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Currently, thanks to the donation from society, children in this school can learn braille, singing and listen to audio books free.
