Quarterly growth of Tibet's economy reaching 10.7%

According to Tibet Autonomous Region's Government, the quarterly growth of Tibet's economy  has reached 23.85 billion yuan RMB in the first quarter of this year, a 10.7 percent increase compared with that in 2015. 

Since the begining of this year, Tibet has been vigorously promoting the structural reform of supply side, reinforcing the economic operation and accelerating the implementation schedule of the Thirteenth-Five Year Plan. Data show that the growths of the major economic indicators, such as fixed assets investment, total retail sales of consumer goods, disposable personal income of rural residents, disposable personal income of urban residents and so on, rank front row in the country. The economic growth and quality efficiency in Tibet has raised significantly. 

The public finance budget expenditure is 28.096 billion yuan RMB, a growth of 27 percent. The tax revenue is 5.82 billion yuan RMB, an incease of 17.6 percent. The gross retail sales of social consumer goods is 10.364 billion yuan RMB, an increase of 12.5 percent.

With the economy's fast growing, Tibet also put forth effort to ensure and improve people's wellbeing as well as put more financial resources into the people’s livelihood construction field.  Various works relevent to poverty alleviation start orderly, which has completed an investment of over two billion yuan RMB.

According to statistics, government investment implemented throughout Tibet in the first quarter of 2016 has reached nearly 30 billion yuan RMB, accounting for about 60 percent of the annual plan. Data show that the social fixed assets investment during this period is 8.123 billion yuan RMB, an increase of 22.3 percent compared with that of the same period in 2015.

At the same time, featured advantageous industries have become one of the engines for the economic development in Tibet. As the pillar industry in Tibet, tourism stands out with 670 million yuan RMB’s tourist income, which is 29.7 percent higher than that of the same period in 2015.
