The expansion of Menling Airport approved by National Development and Reform Commission on June of 2014 is under construction, aiming to serve more passengers and promote the development of Nyingchi's tourism. With an investment of 279 million yuan, this expansion project includes a new terminal building occupying an area of 10,360 square meters, a 3,000-square-meter comprehensive affordable housing and other items. The construction will be completed by the end of Oct. 2016. After expansion, traffic in Nyingchi becomes more convenient, satisfying the need of rapid development of Nyingchi's tourism.

With an altitude of 3,000 meters, Menling Airport is located in Nyingchi of SW China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
