Since the pilot implementation of rural libraries in 2018, Tibet now has a total of 5,465 rural libraries, winning popularity among farmers and herdsmen. Currently, all administrative villages in Tibet have rural libraries. Tibet's administration of culture, press, publication, radio, film and television annually supplements publications to the existing rural libraries and updates book catalogue. A total of more than 80,000 volumes of 59 kinds of books involving various fields such as technology and benefit people policies will be sent to the rural libraries this year. There will be more books in rural libraries, aiming to respond the demand of farmers and herdsmen.
