Tibet's intangible cultural heritage on the tip of tongue

In order to advance and enrich China's cooking culture, deeply explore famous traditional local dishes and build characteristic food brand, 31 provinces and cities as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Crops recommend over 300 famous cuisines and dishes to go in for the selection of "First Session of Chinese Glod Travel Snakes". On Nov. 18, 2016, the selection was finished and a total of 200 famous cuisines and dishes captured the gold, including Pengbi (a kind of bean jelly) and Tiexinbing in Tibet.

In recent years, the technologies of special snakes in Tibet have been included into the List of Tibet Autonomous Region's Intangible Cultural Heritage in different batches, giving rise to famous and traditional local dishes. As Tibet's intangible cultural heritage, food culture not only represents the food itself but also represents a series of craftsmanships and social activities, which is a kind of precious wealth that the ancestors left for us.
