On the morning of Dec. 16, the opening ceremony of Deqingyuan Tibetan Chicken Scientific Research Station was held in Nyemo County, Lhasa City, marking that the local Tibetan chicken industry entered the specialization track. Zhu Jianhong, deputy mayor of Lhasa City, and Zhong Guoqiang, deputy director-general of the Science and Technology Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, attended the ceremony.

This station is specialized in breed conservation, product research and other work. It aims to explore a high-tech industrial chain that is in accordance with local characteristics, as well as lead the local people to get rich.

Zhang Meikun, general manager of Tibet Deqingyuan Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd, introduces that the scientific research station is only a beginning. Next, we will build the Tibetan chicken experts and academicians stations. In addition, a industrial chain that integrates breed conservation, fodder, egg and meat processing, biogas power generation, cold-chain logistics and marketing will be formed. The total investment is planed to be 375 million yuan. After the station is completed, 5 million baby chicken will be offered to local cooperatives and farmers every year, helping the local people to get rich. At the same time, through providing breeding technology training and other methods, people can improve their own abilities and a benign industrial circulation pattern will be formed.

At present, the first-stage project of the Tibetan chicken base has been basically completed.
