Due to the special geomorphology and the uneven distribution of water resources in Tibet, 60% of the region is located in arid and semi-arid areas where the seasonal, regional and engineering water shortage are serious. In recent years, through the implementation of small-scale irrigation and water conservancy infrastructure built at key counties as well as special counties, the irrigation problem of the last mile farmland has been solved.
