In winter, Tibetan Plateau is a natural paradise for black necked cranes, one of the first class national protected animals. According to the data of the Tibet Autonomous Region's Department of Environmental Protection, at present, Tibet has become the world's largest wintering area for black necked cranes. The total number of black necked cranes coming to Tibet in winter has increased from 2,000 in the past up to more than 8000, accounting for more than 80% of the world’s total black necked cranes.
