Tibet: New air routes to be added for 2017 high season

Civil aviations throughout the country have executed the summer season flights since March 26, 2017. To handle the summer and autumn tourism peak in Tibet, all airline companies will recover or add the flights going to and out of Tibet. Tourists from more than 30 domestic and overseas cities, such as Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Katmandu and so on, are available to have a roundtripping to Tibet by air.

From May 15, 2017 on, Nyingchi Mainling Airport in Tibet will newly increase airlines between Nyingchi and Xi’an, which will take off every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

It is reported that airlines between Chongqing and Lhasa, Lhasa, Dazhou and Hangzhou, Lhasa and Chengdu will be reopened. Moreover, it will open more hot air routes, including Lanzhou (capital of Gansu Province) to Lijiang to Kunming (capital of Yunnan Province) flights, Chengdu to Tianjin to Changchun flights, Chengdu to Xining to Yushu flights, Chengdu to Lanzhou flights, and Mianyang toChangsha flights.

At present, Lhasa Gongga Airport, Nyingchi Mainling Airport, Ali Airport, Qamdo Airport and Shigatse Airport have already executed the summer season flights, which will last till October 28, 2017. Warm reminders from Tibet Autonomous Region’s Civil Aviation, Tibet has gradully entered into the peak period, therefore tourists planing to go to Tibet during this period had better to book tickets in advance.
