Maintenance project of main hall of Samye Monastery almost completed

Samye Monastery is located in Dranang County, Lhoka City, Tibet Autonomous Region. Since April 2016, the maintenance work for its main hall has been started. At present, the project is almost completed and it is expected to be completed in the first half of this year.

With a history of more than 1200 years and covering an area of 25000 square meters, Samye Monastery is the first monastery that assembles Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in Tibetan Buddhist history.

Samye Monastery is not only national key cultural relics protection unit, but also Tibet's important religious holy land and scenic spot.
