In recent years, Lhasa City has been advocating green, low-carbon, energy-conservation and environmental forms of transport with the aim of creating resource-saving and environment friendly urban public traffic.

To meet the city's environmental protection goals, recently, 182 new energy taxis have been put into operation in Lhasa City by the Lhasa Communication Industry Group.

When driving at a speed of below 40 kph, these new energy taxisuse electric power. When driving at a speed of over 40 kph, they only use fuel and they are automatically charging the electric batteries at the same time. Therefore, it not only solves the charging station issue but also conforms to the requirements of energy-saving and emission reduction.
