In recent years, relying on superior resources such as ecological tourism, transportation, hydropower, and Tibetan medicine, as well as based on characteristic industries, Nyingchi City has perfected industrial layout and planed the construction of small town. At present, the urbanization network system of Nyingchi City has been basically formed. 17 towns are listed as national key small towns and Bayi Town is rated as the pilot town of the state new-type urbanization.
