Tibet pays high attention to "toilet revolution" and it breaks through the difficult problem of toilet cleaning in water-deficient areas. By the end of 2018, 1934 toilets are planned to be constructed or renovated along main highways, at scenic spots, and in public places with intensive tourists and local people, according to the local housing and urban-rural development department.

Main leaders of Tibet Autonomous Region have systematically arranged and deployed relevant work of "toilet revolution". In-depth research and special technique introduction work is carried out. 5 pilot toilets have been built in the Yamdrok Lake, Dagu, and Namtso scenic spots, solving the toilet cleaning problem in  water-deficient areas and accumulating valuable experience for project construction and promotion.

Take into consideration of geographical environment, climatic conditions, landscape and other factors, Tibet upholds the principle of seeking truth from facts, and scientifically determines the construction standard, structural style, and process engineering. Therefore, these toilets can not only meet practical needs but also are durable, beautiful and tidy.
