On January 25, 2018, approved by the State Council, Gyirong Port was listed as the medical materials import border port. Henceforth, the Food and Drug Administration of Shigase City will undertake the specific work of registration and filing of imported medicinal materials.

From September 3 to 5 in 2017, the assessment team of the State Food and Drug Administration and the General Administration of Customs went to Shigatse City to carry out the assessment work for Gyirong Port. The team earnestly investigated documents on imported medicine system. Besides, it checked the inspection and management system as well as the procedure of importing medicinal materials. The contents of the declaration were also verified. What's more, field assessment and relevant forum were held. Then Gyirong Port passed the evaluation and acceptance.
