The first smart substation in Shigatse City will be completed and put into operation by the end of October this year, according to the local power supply company.

The substation supplies 80% of the electricity load in the urban area. To meet the power load growing needs, the Shigatse Power Supply Company of State Grid invests 51.14 million yuan in optimizing the distribution network structure and improving the power supply capacity. The intelligent auxiliary system and integrated supervision and control system are equipped.

After the completion of the smart substation, the fault handling time can be shorten and the daily operation and maintenance tasks can be reduced, providing more powerful electricity security for the public.
