The project of Lhasa-Shannan Fast Track is a key transportation project of the 13th Five-Year Plan of Tibet Autonomous Region. The total mileage of the whole line is about 47 kilometers, which is built according to the standard of four-lane first-grade highway with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
As an important project to promote the integrated development of Lhasa and Shannan, it has started construction since August, 2016. Now an investment of 3.633 billion yuan has been completed and it is scheduled to be completed in 2019. When completed, it will form a 1-hour economic circle between Lhasa and Shannan.
