On the morning of December 1, the 38th Yarlung Commodity Fair was officially kicked off in Naidong District of Shannan City, and it will last for one week.
More than 6000 merchants from 12 counties (districts) of Shannan City as well as Lhasa, Nyingchi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Hubei and so on attended the fair. On the opening day, 863 kinds of commodities were listed, with a total value of 276.5 million yuan, and the total volume of transactions reached 75.1 million yuan, with 70,000 person-times visitor flow on the spot.
Famous local quality special goods such as Gyaca walnuts, Lhozhag silk noodles, Tsomey beef and mutton, Chanang Pulu, Nang apple, Metok hand knotted articles and so on were favored by consumers.
The Yarlung Commodity Fair can be dated back to 1981. After more than 30 years of development, it has become the largest and most influential comprehensive economic and trade meeting, which integrates materials trade, cultural exchange and display of featured products, and plays an important role in promoting the high-quality economic and social development of Shannan City.
