Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone improves people's livelihood

Since this year, Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone has continuously increased investment in business fields concerning livelihood and created employment opportunities for local people, which has greatly achieved positive social results.

By the end of October, 2018, the number of workers of the Zone has reached 15,532 including local people and college graduates to effectively promote the employment of local students and increase income of farmers and herdsmen.

In poverty alleviation, the zone has invested 430 million yuan (about 619 million US dollars) to build 425 poverty alleviation houses, 549 sets community offices and kindergarten buildings, and complete the work of relocation of 2,691 villagers in five counties (districts),too.

At the same time, in accordance with the requirements of Tibet Autonomous Region People's Government for counterpart assistance, the zone has accelerated the construction of Nyemo Industrial Park, promoted the formation of industry groups, built characteristic town with historical memories, ethnic and regional features in Nyemo County. It has invested 3 million yuan (about 432,158 US dollars) in 271 drinking water devices to provide healthy drinking water to local villagers.
