In recent years, Lhatse County, Xigaze City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has gradually realized the industrialization and branding of Tibetan chicken breeding industry through innovating model and improving the system. Up to now, there are 14 breeding cooperatives in 11 towns, with more than 20,000 Tibetan chickens, which has lifted 371 people from 91 households out of poverty. Tibetan chicken breeding industry has increased the masses' income, and the income of per household has increased by 9,800 yuan.

Based on the actual situation, Lhatse County has explored the experience about Tibetan chicken breeding and innovated the breeding mode. Poor households with breeding conditions can become members of cooperatives by joining the breeding cooperatives in the villages and towns to increase their income. The poor people whose family conditions can't meet the breeding conditions can work for the cooperatives as well as incubation and breeding bases. The poor people who have no labor capacity or are unwilling to work in cooperatives or bases can entrust cooperatives to breed their Tibetan chicken.

At the same time, Lhatse County has built and improved the incubation and breeding bases as well as breeding cooperatives with 8 million yuan invested by the Poverty Alleviation Headquarters of Xigaze City and 15.3 million yuan of aiding Tibet funds. Besides, Lhatse County has unified the services of technical services, purchasing fodder, egg marketing and so on, which has reduced production costs, defused market risks and formed a development pattern of "base + peasant household + society". Up to now, more than 2,000 Tibetan chickens have been incubated, which has effectively promoted the benefits of Tibetan chicken breeding. The standardized construction of 6 township breeding cooperatives has been completed, while the standardized construction of cooperatives in other towns is in preparation.

To improve the efficiency of breeding, the party committee and the government of Lhatse County have carried out the registration of geographical indications of Tibetan eggs, which enhances the competitiveness of Tibetan chicken breeding industry, increases the masses' income, and promotes poverty alleviation.
