On December 7, the one-week 38th Yarlung Commodity Fair was successfully concluded in Shannan City.The total sales exceeded 600 million yuan, making a new high in the history of the fair.
The fair attracted a total of 6040 merchants from inside and outside Tibet, up 3.7% year on year. There were 895 kinds of listed commodities, up 2.8% year on year. The total value of listed commodities was 1.882 billion yuan, up 5.3% year on year. The total transaction amount was 601 million yuan, up 17.4% year on year. The total number of participants reached 540,000. All the indicators were higher than the same period last year, showing the high-quality economic and social development of Shannan City and achieving the goals of economic exchanges, cultural exchanges and ethnic integration.
Kelsang Toinzhub, a worker of a stationery company in Gonggar County, participated in the fair for the third time with good sales performance. "We are the only exhibitor specializing in cultural products at the fair," he said, "the market response of our calligraphy tools and other products is very good. Many people are paying attention to the cultural industry. We have made more than 60,000 yuan in 7 days. We look forward to the next year's fair to provide consumers with better products and achieve a new high sales performance."
To better serve the merchants and consumers, preparations have been started one month in advance. More than 1000 workers took turns at the scene to provide advice, guidance, publicity, sanitation, security and other services, and fire safety patrol was conducted 24 hours a day, providing a safe, comfortable, assured trading environment.
