Since 2018, in Qamdo City of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, rural revitalization strategy has been carried out; policies of boosting agriculture, benefiting farmers and increasing rural prosperity have been implemented, and new progress has been made in the rural governance.
By the end of 2018, Qamdo's total output value of agriculture and animal husbandry has reached 4.28 billion yuan RMB; more than 100 kinds of deep processed products with local characteristics have accessed to the market; 23 characteristic agricultural and livestock products have passed SC certification; the number of leading enterprises and specialized farmer cooperatives have reached 20 and 300 respectively.
Qamdo City has focused on the construction of 5 breeding bases and 7 planting bases, and promoted the integrative development of agriculture and animal husbandry as well as secondary and tertiary industries, so that characteristic industrial clusters and industrial belts of agriculture and animal husbandry have been formed. It has built a total of 4,947 government-subsidized houses and rebuilt 5,615 old houses at rundown urban areas to meet the basic housing needs of poor households. Besides, Qamdo City has worked toward the safe disposal of waste, and stepped up sorting in solid waste and urban garbage disposal, which have improved rural living environments, and made progress in building beautiful countryside through the "Toilet Revolution". Meanwhile, the city has innovated management systems, and built 309 service points to provide one-stop services, too.
