After Tibet's democratic reform, great changes have taken place in the education of Tibet. Nowadays, a modern education system including preschool education, primary education, secondary education, higher education, adult education and Internet education has been established, and people of all ethnic groups enjoy their right to education. The 15-year free education policy has been continuously improved; pre-school bilingual education (Mandarin and Tibetan) has achieved overall popularization; integrated reform and development of the urban and rural compulsory education have been further promoted. In 2018, the gross enrollment rate of preschool education in Tibet has reached 77.9%; Tibet's education has shown a healthy and rapid trend of development.
