In recent years, based on resource advantages, Tibet has reasonably exploited undergrowth resources under tree crowns, and carried out the investigation of wild edible fungus resources, so as to support the development of wild edible fungus production and processing industry. At the the existing fungus production bases in Tibet, advanced production equipment, technology and management experience have been introduced, constantly expanding the production scale of edible fungus to meet the huge market demand.
Due to the increasing market demand for wild edible fungus year by year, since 2005, the domestication and popularization experiment of wild edible fungus has been carried out in several places of Tibet.
Since 2013, the edible fungus planting base of Nyetang Town in Chushur County has been cooperating with the Tibet Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
"At present, there are 52 greenhouses at the base, covering an area of 8.71 hectares and the number of fungus bags is 150,000." Li Hui who is a technician of a biotech company in Tibet says.
Besides, there are lentinus edodes greenhouses at the base, which are in good growing conditions, too.
