Construction of Qamdo "Three Rivers" Hydropower Project in full swing

Construction on four hydropower stations (Su Walong, Ye Batan, Batang and Lawa) of Qamdo "Tree Rivers" Hydropower Project is in full swing, according to Qamdo Municipal Water Conservancy Bureau. Three other hydropower stations -- Gudo, Jueba and Watuo --have been put into operation. Qamdo City of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, where Jinsha, Lancang and Nu Rivers flow together, boasts rich hydroelectricity resources. To date, a total of 22.14 billion yuan RMB have been poured into Qamdo "Tree Rivers" Hydropower Project. By March 24, Gudo, Jueba and Watuo hydropower stations have generated 2.19 billion KW, 324 million KW and 119 million KW of electricity respectively.

To ensure the sooth progress, over 2,400 workers, who didn't go back home during Spring Festival holiday, were involved in the construction of key links over the past months. Furthermore, strict preventive measures have been taken, such as self-isolation and regular sterilization in public places. With online and telephone conferences, communications among workers who work at home are strengthened, ensuring sufficient supply of materials.  

Su Walong hydropower station is located in Markam County of Qamdo City and Batang County of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, due to be completed in 2021.

Qamdo City will accelerate the construction to attain targets including over three billion yuan RMB of utilized investment in hydroelectricity development in 2020 and the new installed capacity of more than one million KW.
