In recent years, southwest China's Guangdong Province has been continuing to promote aid-Tibet work mainly by enhancing people's well-being, developing industries and cultivating talents, which brings great benefits to Tibet's long-term development and stability. During the period of 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20), Guangdong has invested 2.34 billion yuan RMB in 169 projects implemented in Nyingchi City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, accounting for 11% of the total aid-Tibet investment.
In the second quarter of 2020, with an investment of 302 million yuan RMB, 26 aid-Nyingchi projects have been launched, covering basic facilities, public services, culture, tourism, agriculture and animal husbandry. It is expected to help over 650 local farmers and herdsmen find jobs and bring an income increase of 4.7 million yuan RMB.
In the past year, with an investment of 502 million yuan RMB, the construction of 56 projects had already been completed. From 2016 to 2019, 77% of aid-Tibet projects planned in the 13th Five-Year Plan had been finished. This year, 543 million yuan RMB will be poured into 51 aid-Nyingchi projects. As of the end of May, the construction of five projects has been completed.
