Nyingchi National Agriculture Science and Technology Park in Nyingchi City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, has been included on the list of the eighth batch of national agricultural science and technology parks by the Ministry of Science and Technology, according to the Nyingchi Municipal Government. This marks a new step in the application of modern agricultural science and technology achievements, and provides a platform for accelerating the application of modern agricultural science and technology achievements in the fields of specialty forest fruits, Xizang medicine, edible and medicinal fungi in Nyingchi.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, in order to realize the sustainable development of economy, society and ecological environment, advance the supply-side structural reform in agriculture, and increase the effective supply of plateau-characteristic agricultural products, Nyingchi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, on the basis of the strategic needs of long-term development of characteristic agriculture, has taken the establishment of "Nyingchi National Agriculture Science and Technology Park" as an important task.

With the development of featured melons and fruits, edible and medicinal fungi and Xizang medicinal materials, a technology dissemination and radiation mode of "core area -- demonstration area -- radiation area" has been formed. Thanks to the large investment in science and technology, the building of a research and development platform and the application of sci-tech achievements, a national agricultural science and technology park with the theme of "high altitude, new model, plateau characteristics and environmental friendliness" has been established in the southeast Xizang, realizing the sustainable development in local economy, ecology and society.
