With the Spring Festival approaching, markets in Lhasa City, capital of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, are becoming more and more festive, with a wide variety of goods filling the shelves. People come to buy New Year goods in an endless stream, everywhere permeated with lively festival atmosphere.
During the festival, there are always bustling crowds around Chomsigkang Market and Barkhor Mall. In the Chomsigkang Market, the snack area on the first floor is full of various kinds of candies and nuts, attracting many citizens. At the temporary stalls outside the market, there are also vendors selling local specialties such as milk residue and dried yak meat.
In addition, Spring Festival couplets, lucky characters, red envelopes, lanterns, decorations and other relevant products have also entered the hot selling period. At the small commodity market of Taiyang Dao, shops along the streets are decorated with festive couplets, Chinese knots, red lanterns and various decals.
"The Spring Festival is coming soon. I'll stay in Lhasa for the festival this year because of my work. Today I'll buy some goods and nice ornaments wishing peace and health in the new year." Said Ms. Li.
