Several athletes from the Xizang autonomous region won medals at the 2023/24 ISMF Youth World Cup Ski Mountaineering season competitions in Meribel, France, between Dec 9 and 10, according to the region's sports bureau.
During the two-day competition, athletes from the region won three gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal. More than 100 athletes attended the competition from 12 countries, including China, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Spain.
The events were divided into four categories, with men and women each getting their own U20 and U18 groupings. After fierce competition, Yudron Lhamo claimed gold in the U20 Women's Sprint and silver in the U20 Women's Individual. Pumu Ani won gold in the U18 Women's Sprint and bronze in the U18 Women's Individual. Meanwhile, Tsetan Yudron won gold in the U18 Women's Individual.
These athletes from the Chinese National Mountaineering and Skiing Team will now return home for training to prepare for other competitions in the 2023/24 season.
