Around 12 young guests from ten countries, including the UK, India and Sri Lanka, are nearing the end of a four-day visit to the Xizang Autonomous Region. Invited by various Chinese embassies, their trip includes stops in Nyingchi and the capital city, Lhasa.

On Thursday, they visited the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, along with a primary school and a thangka painting academy.

By immersing themselves in the natural landscapes and diverse sites, these visitors have observed Xizang's overall development, gaining new experiences and a better understanding of the region.

Mimi Templar Gay, a young visitor from England, said it was her first time visiting Xizang, although she had been to other parts of China.

Mimi described the trip as amazing, highlighting the beauty of the region and the warmth of its people. She particularly cherished the visit to the Potala Palace on Thursday morning.

"I also loved the opera we went to last night - the Princess Wenchang Opera. I was just so impressed with the whole storytelling, but you know the mix of kind of local people performing, and it was really wonderful, it's all been brilliant," she added.

Shafiya Nawzer, from Sri Lanka, shared her wonderful experiences traveling through different parts of the region. She was touched by the kindness, hospitality and smiles of the people she encountered.

"It was such a beautiful experience. It's something that we don't get on a daily basis, and I totally enjoyed it," she said.

She also enjoyed visiting the Potala Palace and the Jokhang Temple on Thursday. She said: "The Potala Palace is gigantic, we had a really amazing guide. Thanks to him, we have got a deeper understanding of the palace, and that was one of the most special highlights for us."

"I think how beautiful and lovely and kind the people of this area are. I've been to a few other places, but I don't see the people with this hospitality and the biggest smiles," she said, adding they're always willing to help, which makes her so happy.
