Xizang has always attached great importance to ecological work. Since the 1980s, Shannan City of China's Xizang took the lead in constructing the Yarlung Zangbo River shelterbelt forest. Through the unremitting efforts over a long time, the riverbanks are now covered with forests and vast stretches of oases.
