Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County stands at the intersection of the sub-tropical and tropical deep in Hainan's central mountainous region, with misty, lush peaks as far as the eye can see. Recently, British content creator Harvey Charles ascended Baihua Ridge in Qiongzhong County to explore the secrets of the mountains and experience the wonders of nature.

Harvey crosses the Baihua Gallery Bridge in the urban center of Qiongzhong County.

In this idyllic rainforest wonderland, Harvey enjoyed various experiences, crossing the Baihua Gallery Bridge, taking in sights such as the Heaven's Harp Tree and the towering Baihua Waterfall, wandering along the canopy boardwalk, and riding an inflatable raft down the rainforest flume water slide.

Harvey visits the thousand-year-old "Heaven's Harp" Tree and marvels at the wonders of nature.

From trees, bushes, and vines to mosses and lichens, rainforest plants occupy their own living space, surviving in their own ways. On Baihua Ridge can be seen ten key tropical rainforest phenomena, including banyan trees forming single tree "groves," plants strangling other plants, flowers growing from dead wood, and dripping leaf tips.

Standing under the shade of the "Heaven's Harp" banyan tree and looking up, Harvey was amazed that just a single tree could block out so much sunlight. He learned that this tree's green branches and leaves were concentrated at the top, and more than 50 kinds of plants grow between its branches, just like a lush "sky garden." Even more amazing is the large vine plant "Cross River Dragon," winding hundreds of meters in various directions like a giant python with "golden ropes" hanging from the sky, the girthiest of which is almost as thick as an adult's forearm.

Harvey climbed up the steps to the Baihua Ridge Waterfall viewing platform to admire the towering Baihua Waterfall, which cascades down the mountainside in three sections like silver chains tumbling gracefully. The waterfall throws a dense mist into the surrounding air, adding to its mystery and beauty. Its source is atop the second peak of Baihua Ridge—the source of many rivers—at an altitude of 700 meters, a catchment area of nearly 2 square kilometers, and a drop of 300 meters.

"The bilingual Chinese and English travel brochures provided here helped me better understand the scenic area's stories," said Harvey. He marveled at the area's fresh, cool, comfortable air, stunning scenery, and clear waters. To him, Baihua Ridge, which he described as nature's air conditioner, is a perfect summer vacation destination.
