In Xizang, the high altitude, low air pressure and low boiling point make food difficult to cook. Thus people living on plateau need to use pressure cookers. Yet the traditional pressure cookers on the market is complicated to operate, and the function is relatively simple, which can not well meet the cooking needs of plateau masses.

All these issues concern the vital interests, health and safety of the people on the plateau. As the saying goes, food is the life of the people. The expectations of the people's livelihood are the direction of governance, and the pain points of the market are breakthroughs in these key areas.

Recently, with these questions, our reporter visited Xizang Shangchu Technology Co., Ltd to explore the answer. Upon entering the company, "Snow Lotus" pressure pots, automatic ghee teapots, titanium series non-stick cookers and other products are dazzling.

According to Gao Jiuhe, one of the persons in charge, introduced that the company is the first enterprise in Xizang that produces plateau multi-functional series cookware. It has built 10 production lines for multi-functional pressure cookers and related products, and developed 30 more kinds of products in 7 categories, such as plateau steam box, plateau electric kettle, plateau outdoor supplies, etc. The overall product technology and plateau applicability have reached international leading level. Some main products even have realized production in Xizang.

Research, development and promotion of multifunctional cookware suitable for plateau areas is an important livelihood project promoted by Xizang Autonomous Region.

In 2022, through actively docking with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, organizing the China Hardware Products Association, the China Daily Hardware Technology Development Center and six domestic leading cookware enterprises, the region began to develop pressure cookers suitable for use in plateau areas.

After over 3 months’ research and development, through 20 more technical discussions, sample display and research improvement, a series of "SnowLotus" brand cookware products that fit the plateau have been released. A number of technological innovations were achieved, 18 patents were obtained, and the overall technology and plateau applicability of the products have reached the international leading level.

On November 20, 2022, Xizang Shangchu Cookware Technology Co., LTD., the first manufacturer of plateau multi-functional series cookware, was officially put into operation. With government subsidies and enterprise discounts, over 900,000 pieces of "snow lotus" plateau cookware were sold to farmers, herdsmen and urban residents around the region, greatly benefiting the masses.

"I already bought a 'Snow Lotus' plateau pressure pot, and now I am buying another one. Compared with old style ones, these high altitude pressure potsare easier to operate and the quality is very good," citizen Lhapa Droma says.

Whether Snow Lotus or Gesang Flower, it is a symbol of happiness on the plateau. Plateau cookware entering thousands of households is like Snow Lotus and Gesang Flowers blooming all over the plateau. Today, these small plateau cookers warm the masses’s to maches and hearts, bringing full happiness to ordinary people.
