Khorchak Village, with a history of over 1000 years, is located in Nagri Prefecture, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. It's a natural village along the border, facing the Yusha Village of Nepal across a river, with the smallest width of only 4 meters.

Until 2020, the entire Burang County depended on two small hydropower stations for electricity supply, and blackouts were common in winter when the river freezes. Four years ago, with the formal interconnection of Nagri local power with Xizang Main Power Grid, the prefecture was officially connected to the national power grid, and residents of the village finally had the access to a stable power supply.

"In the past, power outages were frequent in the kindergarten, playing videos in class was a big trouble. Now, we can continuously play children's songs and radio after class, and children can also see the world through the Internet," said Lhapa Tsamjo, the principal of Khorchak Kindergarten.

With abundant tourism resourses, the village attracts a large number of tourists every year, some villagers find business opportunity in family hotels. "There are 35 beds in my family hotel, and every room here is equipped with hot water and WiFi after our village was connected to a stable power grid. More and more tourists are willing to travel here," said Jamyang, a 58-year-old villager, happily. He drove a long-distance tourist bus when he was young. Now, he owns a family hotel, with an income of nearly 50,000 yuan this year.

In recent years, with the increasing investment of the country, Khorchak Villageis not only equipped withasphalt roads and tap water,but also bilingual kindergartens, medical rooms, etc.

Rows of white Tibetan-style courtyards can be seen along the clean streets of the village, and the elderly sitting happily in front of their doors. "We have truly lived a happy lifenowadays," said the elderly Jampema.
