In recent years, while vigorously promoting economic and social development, Xizang has always made efforts to strengthen ethnic unity. The common prosperity and development of all ethnic groupshave become the theme of Xizang's economic and social development in the new era, as well as the common pursuit and conscious action.
Puna Village: Helping each other toward better lives
Since it was established in 2006, Puna Village of Xigaze City has been inhabited by Tibetan, Han, Hui, Sala, Yi and other ethnic residents. Over the years, the heartwarming stories of all ethnic groups working together for common prosperity and development have been continuously going on.
In 2008, Ma Binlin, an ethnic Hui in Minhe County of Qinghai Province, came to Puna Village and opened a car repair shop with the location advantage of a nearby national road. Being new here and encountering the shortage of funds, he was helped by fellow villagers with funds, site, equipment, customers... Eventually, Ma's business ran smoothly, and he settled down here.
Over the years, in return for the kindness of the villagers, Ma is always willing to help those who are inneeds. "Living in the village for so many years, we are already a family," he says.
Wang Xianwei and Chung kyipa are Han - Tibetan combined couple. After the establishment of Puna Village, Wang and Chung moved here and ran a small supermarket. The couple always get along well with locals, and their life is full of happiness. "Puna is our common home," Wang says.
The stories of these two families are merely an epitome of ethnic unity and progress in Rinbung County.
Today, with the support of various national beneficial policies, Puna Village has set up a collective cooperative integrating labor service, pig breeding, brick factory, agritainment, greenhouse planting etc., providing a platform for the residents of all ethnic groups in the village to work together and share the fruits of development.
Looking forward to a better future, Puna villagers are fully confident, "We will remain closely united and stick together like the seeds of a pomegranate, 'irrigate the flower of ethnic unity' carefully, and 'sing the ethnic unity song' loudly."
Xizang Shangchu Technology: Sticking together and forging ahead
Since Xizang Shangchu Technology Co., Ltd settled in Lhasa Economic Development Zone in May 2022, it has deeply integrated ethnic unity and enterprise progress to promote continuous development.
"Among the 100 employees, except Han, there are seven different ethnic groups, such as Tibetan, Yi and Qiang, who are bonded by common ideals and work. From colleagues to friends, and even into couples, we demonstrated the mutual understanding and respect between different cultures." The company’s HR says.
Pema Yangjen is one of the employees who have found a life partner in the company. "We are from differentethnic groups in different regions. In daily life and work, we get along well, understand, respect, and support each other, just like familymembers."
Since its establishment, the company has won honors such as "National Industrial Production License" and "Xizang Labor Award", and has been awarded the title of "Practice Base for Building a Common Spiritual Home for the Chinese Nation" by the Lhasa Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, demonstrating the company's concern for ethnic unity and social responsibility. In the harmonious work environment, everyone forges ahead in unity, striving to be an "implementer" and "protector" of ethnicunity.
Dekyi New Village: Unity and friendship promote development
Dekyi New Village, located in Shannan City of China's Xizang, has more than 800 Tibetan, Han, and Tu residents, and is a well-known "Ethnic Unity Village".
Wearing Tibetan clothes and speaking fluent native dialect, if it were not for the hints from villagers, no one would know that this 59-year-old villager Tenzin is not a "Tibetan uncle".
Tenzin was called Zhang Jicheng before. When he was 20 years old, he followed a construction team to work here, "I was a road worker back then. Although the conditions of construction sites were difficult at that time, everyone took care of each other and was like a family. Later, I met my Tibetan wife on the working site and settled down here."
In recent years, the village has adhered to the close combination of ethnic unity with the promotion of economic development and rural revitalization, actively organized the masses to participate in various practical skills training, and gradually established a number of collective economic projects such as dairy farming, greenhouse vegetables, nursery bases, and large-scale machinery leasing, which have driven the employment of the masses and increased their income.
"On the road of ethnic unity, we will bear in mind the theme of 'common prosperity and development of all ethnic groups', strive to create a good atmosphere to live together, study together, work together and enjoy together, and lead the whole village to draw concentric circles of ethnic unity," says a worker of Dekyi New Village Committee.
