In recent years, China's Xizang Autonomous Region has made great efforts to tap the potential of clean energyand promote the construction of a number of clean energy projects, making great progress in the field represented by wind and solar energy.

Datang Baxoi Wind Power Projectin Qamdo City is the first wind power project in southeast Xizang, consisting of 20 wind turbines, with a capacity of 5 megawatts for each. The highest nacelle at an altitude of 5,200 meters is the world’s highest wind power project that has been put into operation. Since the project started in April 2024, it has taken six months to complete all the crane operation of 20 wind turbines. After it is completed and put into operation, it can not only effectively optimize the energy structure of Xizang, but also ensure the safe supply of local electricity during the winter peak season.

In October, though the weather gradually turned cold in Zhari Nanmuco Communityof Coqen County, Ngari Prefecture, it was warm in Zhamog’s house. "With the centralized heating, our life in winter is more convenient and comfortable," he said.

This year, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Xizang Autonomous Region implemented the pilot construction of clean energy centralized heating in seven regions, which can meet the needs of 200,000 people after completion, Zhari Nanmuco Community is among the seven.

Recently, the world's highest altitude wind storage integration project officially started in Sene Districtof Nagqu City. The 100 MW photovoltaic power generation project with a total investment of 620 million yuan is also under construction in Semai Village of Lhasa City.

The development and use of clean energy not only provide local energy power and produce huge economic benefits, but also play an important role in promoting the transformation of energy and electric power structure, carbon neutrality and adjustment of energy structure of the country. Batches of clean energy projects bring more green resources to thousands of households.
