Since the beginning of this year, the number of days with good air quality in Shannan City's urban area has been close to 99%. The water quality of the city's main rivers and lakes has reached or exceeded the Class III standard, and the water environmental quality of centralized drinking water sources has maintained a 100% compliance rate.

In recent years, Shannan City has formulated an implementation plan for reducing pollution, lowering carbon emissions, and improving efficiency, with a financial investment of 6.0236 million yuan.The city has continuously strengthened the coding and registration of non-road mobile machinery, with a total of 2,663 vehicles registered. Three vehicle emission testing agencies have conducted a total of 35,187 vehicle tests and 152,392 remote sensing tests, with a compliance rate of over 99%.

The "Regulations on the Protection of Drinking Water Sources in Shannan City" has been deliberated and approved on October 30, and will come into effect on January 1, 2025. Currently, all 89 river discharge outlets in Shannan City have been rectified, and drinking water source protection zones have been designated for 6 townships in 5 counties. A total of 485 villages have completed rural environmental remediation, and 241 villages have implemented rural domestic sewage treatment, with a control rate for rural domestic sewage treatment reaching over 42%.
