In 2024, athletes from Xizang Autonomous Region won a total of 55 gold, 44 silver, and 65 bronze medals in domestic and international competitions. Particularly noteworthy are their outstanding achievements in winter skiing events. It is reported that in recent years, Xizang’s athletes have performed excellently and continuously made breakthroughs in key events such as ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing, marathons, middle and long-distance running, wrestling, and race walking, according to the regional sports work conference held recently for the year 2025.

At the 2023-2024 International Ski Mountaineering Federation Youth World Cup in Molde, Norway, Tseden Yudron alone won three gold medals in the U20 Women's Vertical Sprint, Mixed Relay, and Individual Cross-Country Race. At the International Ski Mountaineering Federation Youth World Cup, she contributed to a tally of 3 gold and 2 bronze medals, and at the National Ski Mountaineering Championships, she and her teammates achieved 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Outstanding athletes such as Tsering Dradul, Tseden Yudron, Yudron Lhamo, Tashi Tsering, Tsering Tsomo, Pema Drolma, and Yangla continued to make breakthroughs and shine in key events such as ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing, marathons, middle and long-distance running, wrestling, and race walking.

Especially at the National Winter Games, 25 athletes from Xizang competed in several major events including ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing, and snowboard cross, and achieved the gratifying results of 4 gold and 1 silver medals. This has, to some extent, strengthened the confidence of Xizang’s athletes to make breakthroughs in winter sports and stand on the Olympic podium soon. At the 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities, Xizang’s athletes won a total of 17 first prizes, 32 second prizes, and 28 third prizes, not only setting the best record in the participation history but also showcasing the fruitful results of Xizang's efforts to create a model region for ethnic unity and progress.
