Since 2024, sports departments in Xizang Autonomous Region have focused on enhancing fitness venues accessible to the public, promoting brand sports events, and igniting a renewed wave of enthusiasm for fitness, according to the 2025 regional sports work conference.

It is reported that in 2024, Xizang allocated a total of 497 million yuan in project funds to construct 17 sports parks (seven of which are integrated into existing facilities), 29 multifunctional sports fields, and implemented 200 projects to bring table tennis into parks and communities. Additionally, 37 towns and streets received upgrades to their fitness venues and equipment, and 18 fitness centers were repaired. By reinforcing the construction of sports parks in border counties, multifunctional sports fields in townships, and maintenance and renovation projects for fitness centers, Xizang has further diversified its sports venues and facility offerings. Meanwhile, significant efforts were made to promote the free or low-cost opening of public sports venues, with subsidy funds amounting to 19.68 million yuan, benefiting 51 sports venues.

Since last year, Xizang has actively built brand sports events and popularized fitness activities, resulting in more diverse fitness activities and a continuously improved competition system, effectively promoting the integrated development of multiple industries such as "sports+" and facilitating exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups.
