At the approach of Losar New Year festival, one of the most important holidays for Tibetan people, the markets and streets are filled with vibrant energy in Lhasa City, capital of southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, as locals gear up to celebrate the Year of the Snake, which will fall on Feb 28th this year.
Losar symbolizes the beginning of a new year, and local residents do plenty of preparations for the upcoming festival. Among these, preparing Chemar, a New Year offering box symbolizing prosperity and good fortune, is one of the indispensable activities.
