Xizang Autonomous Region has achieved remarkable progress in the construction of children's palaces in rural schools since the launch of the central special lottery public welfare fund, which is jointly initiated by the Central Civilization Office, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Education. Currently, full coverage has been basically achieved in 685 towns across 74 counties (districts) in the region, according to Xizang Autonomous Region Finance Department.

From 2011 to 2024, Xizang's finance department has allocated a total of 190 million yuan from the central special lottery public welfare fund to support 671 rural children's palaces in improving facilities and equipment, training teachers, and ensuring their smooth operation, benefiting approximately 950,000 students.

Under the solid guarantee of continuous investment of funds, from September to December 2023, in-depth research and construction plans have been conducted. 10.95 million yuan of special funds were allocated to build 76 children's palaces in rural schools, filling the gap in remote areas. In May 2024, the funds were disbursed, and a four-level supervision mechanism was implemented to ensure the standardized and efficient use of funds in project construction.

Now, the rural children's palaces across Xizang are actively carrying out various activities that are infused with distinct local ethnic characteristics, including moral education, culture, art, and sports, enriching students' extracurricular life, creating vital linkages between school, family, and social education, and addressing educational resource disparities in rural and pastoral areas. These initiatives have been warmly welcomed by local teachers, students, parents, and the masses.
