Looking back at history, in 1959, the average life expectancy in Xizang was only 35.5 years. Over the past 66 years, through continuously advancing equal access to basic public health services, deeply implementing medical and health service network, and providing medical expert teams from other parts of the country to substantially increase the medical service capacity, the average life expectancy has risen from 35.5 years in 1959 to 72.5 years.
